We all know the Internet is serious business..

I often discover little quirky things on the Internet (with a capital “I” my friends) that I would never have thought of otherwise.

We all know the phrase “lo and behold” (or so I thought)..

I was reading a mailing list that shall remain unnamed for no real reason, and I noticed that someone had used the phrase “woah and behold.” Now, first of all, whoa is spelled w-h-o-a (old pet peeve, right Jim? Sorry :]). Secondly, wtf? I know “lo” isn’t a common word, but.. yeah. I don’t get it. So, anyway, on to Google!

I did a little testing:

So.. I guess people are nuts, and I have a bunch of useless pet peeves.

Before The Great Content Losing of 2005 here at gonad.org (also before the wonders of WordPress!), I had compared the use of “prom” and “the prom.” Like “I went to prom” compared to “I went to the prom.” Using Google, I compared many-a phrase like this, but I can’t remember the results, so it was a bit pointless to mention it! Anyway! I feel the word “prom” should always have “the” in front of it in these sentences, unless of course you’re an English-speaking European. Then you can say crap like “After I went to prom, I attended university, but found myself in hospital! I think it’s time I go on holliday!” and just sound cultured.

I should make some special css for my DOOT DOOT DOOT update markers! Harr!

I just realized that as soon as Google picks up this page, the results will be slightly higher. This is the price I pay for doing cutting edge science research.

Also, since I’m too lame to come up with a new poll topic, this post will have to it. Vote in the sidebar! VOTE! VOOOTE YOU HEATHENS! I’m trying out the features that lets people add options.. feel free!
