The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain doing “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Winnar.
Ok, I can safely say that I am not an adventurous eater. Sure, there are some things I enjoy that others may not–anchovies or burnt toast (yum) come to mind–but I generally stay away from anything strange. I don’t even like most seafood. I like my meat cooked to near cardboardishness.
Though I’m not very keen on consuming freakish food, I do enjoy learning more about such things. Today I discovered Weird Meat, a blog devoted to reporting on some of the more interesting food items I’ve heard of.
Like what, you ask? How about some scary looking chicken embryos or “noodles” made of fish crap? Not your cup of tea? Perhaps a delectable vertical pork bone, complete with a bendy straw to suck out the marrow!
Looking at all these strange (and supposedly tasty) treats makes me almost want to experiment. Almost. Though, I think I could handle the kudu jerky.
UPDATE
Thought I’d tack this one on here as well.
While living in Spain a few years ago I observed bowls of what appeared to be blood-colored Knox blocks in a number of tapas bars. It turned out to be just that — congealed blood. I have eaten (and enjoyed in varying degrees) everything from raw octopus to “innards” soup that looked like liquefied liverwurst, but here I had to draw the line.
Gross Traditional Edibles of Europe. Word.
THANKS FOR THE LINK, JIMMY.
With the Davinci Code coming out this friday, I thought it would be neat to showcase this!
Scott Johnson is doing a video diary of his cartoon work on YouTube. I thought it was sort of neat to watch.
I may work with Photoshop every day, but I lack the drive and energy (*cough*drawing skill*cough*) to create a worthwhile comic. Well, Johnny was somewhat worthwhile.. for all 2 episodes it held my interest.
Check out ExtraLife for more comics, or his YouTube page for more videos.
Some kid fixed it so the old school Nintendo Power Glove could be used on his computer. This is what happened. Pretty neat, I’d say, but then again, I’m a huge nerd.
