A sad day for all Pastendom…

A student in North Carolina was suspended from his school for following the holy guidelines set forth by Pastafarianism. Dressing as a pirate is a cornerstone of Pastafarian tradition, and any person who employs this style of dress is certainly in close proximity to His noodly appendage.

This is truly a sad day for the freedom of religious expression, and the (semi-)time-honored traditions set forth by the FSM. What pains me more is the lack of regard for the I’d Really Rather You Didn’ts. Let us reflect upon I’d Really Rather You Didn’t No. 3:

I’d Really Rather You Didn’t Judge People For The Way They Look, Or How They Dress, Or The Way They Talk, Or, Well, Just Play Nice, Okay? Oh, And Get This In Your Thick Heads: Woman = Person. Man = Person. Samey = Samey. One Is Not Better Than The Other, Unless We’re Talking About Fashion And I’m Sorry, But I Gave That To Women And Some Guys Who Know The Difference Between Teal and Fuchsia.

Looks like some folks in North Carolina just can’t “Play Nice.”

Every so often, I get a bored moment and go browsing through my bookmarks. I’ve found myself at artist bengal’s site many times, and I just can’t get enough. Check it out for something a little different.

While doing some random googling, I came up with an interesting interview with bengal, thanks to some StumbleUpon reviews.

I’d like to get my hands on his graphic novel, Meka (book 1, book2), but I’m not entirely sure I want to fork over $50 to Amazon.fr to get em :) In other words, I need to wait for correct moment to impulse buy.

UPDATE-A-TRON

I ordered them :D

  • 1 ex. de : Meka, Tome 2 : Outside

Amazon.fr isn’t too hard to navigate, even if you giggle whenever you read French, like I do.  Babelfish was helpful where my not-quite-educated guessing fell short :)
